Thanks to Kyle for this photo from Slush Series #6.

UBCSCC Slush Series #7: "UBC-SFU Challenge"
Date: Sunday, February 24th, 2008
UBCSCC Membership Required
-$5/Day Membership available
-SFICC Membership OK - MUST contact Sonca Teng/SFICC VP, see below
Location: BC Driving Centre
Cost: $20 pre-registration via Karelo or $25 on-site

This event counts towards your Slush Series points! If you don't belong to any of the 3 schools you still get points towards the Slush standings.

There is absolutely ZERO TOLERANCE for any burnouts, reckless driving, or loud stereos on Ford Road at any time. Anyone caught breaking this rule will be immediately, and permanently, banned from all 3 local autocross clubs without warning.

Please note: Tech closes at 8:30am sharp. If you are changing tires, this must be complete before you go through the tech inspection. Registration closes at 8:40am sharp.

Please read over this event's Supplemental Regulations prior to signing up at:
http://www.ubcscc.com/events/2007/SS7/supp_reg.html

Leads for this event:
Event Chair: Mark Uhlmann
Event Steward: Jared Powell-Williams
Head of Course Design: Mark Uhlmann
Head of Technical Inspection: Felix Chan
Head of Registration: Ken Au-Yeung
Head of Workers: Richard
Head of Timing & Scoring: Ryan
Head of Parking: Chris Seigman

--------------------

Taken from the Supplemental Regulations:

UBC-SFU Challenge
-3 categories and 3 schools make up this event (we've included BCIT as well).

-The 3 categories are: "Senior Team," "Novice Team," and "General Team."

-During registration on the morning of the event, drivers who are active students or alumni will be asked to identify which of the 3 schools they wish to represent.

-The morning session will be used for practice and qualification. Using indexed times, the top 4 senior drivers and top 4 novices drivers from each school will make up the Senior and Novice Teams, as well as a General Team (for those belonging to a school who does not qualify for either teams) for the afternoon session.

-In the afternoon, the best run for each driver will be used to calculate the average time for the team they belong to. The team with the lowest average time wins the category for their school.

-If a school wins two or more categories (Senior, Junior, or General), they are the winner.

-Should all 3 schools win a category each, a tie-breaker will be used to determine the winner of the challenge: The school with the lowest average score among Senior, Junior, and General shall win.

-SFICC members are not required to purchase a UBCSCC membership to participate, but only with confirmation from Sonca Teng/SFICC VP, otherwise you are required to purchase $25/year membership, or $5/day membership. They are also able to sign up for the Karelo price of $20 on-site, but only with proof of SFICC membership.

Get your friends to come out and join the rivalry!!

--------------------

would like to ask for a work position that doesn't require me to run around because it hurts my right foot to walk around with that wart.

question: which type of barcode is used for the scanner?
I have lost my barcode card, and is trying to make a new one

edit: its UPC-E...

So, to clarify, only the top 4 drivers of each team of each school will continue on in the afternoon, for a total of 24 drivers in the afternoon?

Nope, the general team will consist of all the drivers that did not make the senior and novice teams for their school. Everyone will still get to race in the afternoon, just like a regular Slush event.

Updated class in original post, as I'll most likely still have a bunch of interior bits out of the car next weekend.

*edit* updated again... Rolling Eyes
