What is the UBC Slush Series?
The UBC Slush Series is a unique 7-part autocross championship series running over the winter months. With all other local clubs closed for the year, it's a great chance for novice and experienced drivers alike to get a head start on the competition for the various championships run over the regular season. With such a wide variety of weather possible, it's also a great time to get some practice driving in various conditions - we run our events in just about anything mother nature can come up with (including beautiful sunshine!). In 2010-11 we again had over 150 drivers compete in the Slush Series, with the Top Gun Championship title eventually to be won by UBCSCC's own Ken Au-Yeung, while the title of Slush Series Novice Champion was awarded to Gabriel Caldwell. This year in 2011 we are kicking it up a notch with more competition, more prizes, and more fun!

The top driver of each event competing in the "NOVICE" group, as determined by their indexed ranking, will receive FREE entry to the next Slush event!!! Please note, there will be no transfers or "credit" - if you cant make the next event, you are out of luck!

Important Dates
Please note all events for the 2011-12 Slush Series are pre-registration via Karelo only. You can find signup links on our forum. You can signup for a new membership at the same time and pick up your membership card and barcode at your first event. Online registration closes at 9pm the night before the event.

Class Groupings & Scoring
Just like in years past, we are breaking drivers down into groups of competition to ensure that everybody fits into a group where they can compete fiercely for the prizes AND the respect! All groups will be compared using indexed ("PAX") times using 2011 SCCA PAX values (including Slush Series events occurring in 2012). The Slush Series is scored on each driver's best 5/7 events; however, 4/7 used for calculating Slush Series points must be in one specific vehicle and class. No car may have more than two drivers in the same competition group regardless of class. A driver may only compete in one group for the duration of the entire series.
Note: while drivers may choose their group to compete in, the UBCSCC Executive Team retains the right to move drivers in the interest of promoting even competition and sportsmanlike behaviour among competitors. No sandbagging!
Group 1 - TOP GUN
This is the class for any and all drivers gunning for the title of SLUSH SERIES TOP GUN. Serious driving talent and serious car preparation are required to win this class against the fastest drivers in the region. We've stepped up the prizes and stepped up the competition for TOP GUN - if you are looking for a challenge - you've found it!
Group 2 - NOVICE
If you are new to the sport, this is the place to be, compete against your fellow novices to see who has what it takes to become our SLUSH SERIES NOVICE CHAMPION! Please note our definition of a novice driver, located under What is the UBCSCC Slush Series.
Group 3 - INDEX
This is for all drivers no longer eligible for NOVICE and not wishing to challenge the region's fastest drivers in TOP GUN. This group is prime for those drivers without fully prepared cars - put your driving to the test! All classes are eligible for this group and can run the tires they normally would.
Group 4 - STREET TIRE INDEX
This class is for drivers to run their cars that are normally classed in Stock, Street Prepared, Street Modified, or beyond, on street tires ONLY. Please note cars competing in ST, STS, STX, STR, or STU are not eligible for this group.
